Pose of the Week: Revolved Sugar Cane Prep

REVOLVED SUGAR CANE PREP

SHAPE PREP
(from revolved half moon left)
Bend standing knee, turn knee out slightly (more doable: turn standing foot out 30 degrees, turn knee out towards pinky toe).
Bend top knee, hold inner edge of foot with opposite hand. Press heel into hip.
Bring top thigh parallel to floor (more doable: lower thigh toward floor).
Bend standing knee more, twist torso to right—stack shoulders.

SHAPE POSE
Stay here or kick top foot up. Bend in upper back.
Look up (more doable: look out or down).
Line up head with hips.

SAFETY PREP
Keep standing knee bent.

SAFETY POSE
Tighten glutes, press tailbone down.
Tone, turn abdomen up.
Use leg to lift leg.

REFINEMENT POST
Lift chest, stretch spine.

Repeat on the second side.
