Online Resources for Members

Good morning, yogis!

Yesterday I taught in class that one benefit of yoga is that it gives us skills to reside in the muck of the unknown. We quite literally practice sitting with discomfort.

But that sure doesn’t make it easy!

In fact, a lot of lessons we receive in yoga can get distilled down to: this isn’t easy.

None of us know how long this will stretch on, and not knowing when we’ll be back in the studio is extremely difficult for all of us.

It has been so meaningful seeing you online for our virtual classes.

As a thank you to our sustaining members, we created a private, members-only Facebook group. In the group we have uploaded videos (over ten full classes already), and all they are free to stream those at any time. We’re continuing to upload new classes, and have plans to add short pose tutorials and mini-practices.

Already a #MahaMember? Join the group here!

Our members are a big part of what is sustaining Maha at this time. As of this morning, I have been unsuccessful in negotiating rent relief with our landlord and we are still paying full rent.

I have legal support and we will continue to push negotiations, but for now we are certainly in the muck of uncertainty.

Click this link if you’d like to get a monthly membership for yourself or donate one to a front line worker.

During the shutdown, we are waiving both the $20 activation fee as well as the 30 days notice needed to cancel.

Maha memberships are no risk (cancel any time) and win/ win (sustain the studio that you love, and have access to both our live-streamed weekly Zoom classes plus unlimited streaming of the bonus content in our Facebook group for the duration of your membership).

Louise and I will be at the studio TONIGHT from 5:30-7pm to facilitate mat and shirt pickup. If you have your mat stored at Maha and want to take it home, please meet us then.

Note that masks are required in the building at this time, covering both the mouth and nose. We will be there to assist you in contactless pickup. I’m sorry, but we can not accommodate you if you are late, as the call box is not working; we’ll be manually letting each person in one by one from the ground floor lobby.

We have one more pickup scheduled for this Saturday 10:30am-noon. I hope you and yours are safe and healthy during this mucky time.
